I'm a twenty-something South African living in Buan, South Korea with my husband (I have also lived in London...England, Daejeon...South Korea, and in Johannesburg & Pietermaritzburg...South Africa). While I don't consider myself to be a creative person, what I do love doing is blogging. With a little help from the ladies behind PuglyPixel, Wonderforest and A BeautifulMess my blog looks like it does today. I have taught myself photoshop, design all my own graphics and take all my own photographs.
When I grow up I want to be a teacher. I have always wanted to teach, but have gotten sidetracked along the way. After graduating from Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Farmboy and I headed to South Korea for the first time. We returned to get married, and I completed a Postrad Teaching Diploma through the University of Kwazulu Natal in 2012. After that I worked as a Grade 3 teacher at a few lovely Primary Schools in Pietermaritzburg. As of June 24th 2013 hubby and I have landed back on South Korean soil to teach English.
That's the plan for the next few years anyway :)
But the name of this blog is CityGirl Searching, I can never be certain where exactly my searching may lead. Look back with me on how I planned my wedding {which took place on 23rd September 2012}, find interesting places to explore, review make up products, take pretty pictures and explore my new home in Asia.
I love taking photographs, all the photo's on my blog have either been taken by me or by my hubby, who shall forever be referred to on this blog as Farmboy. Why I hear you ask? Well he really is a farm boy, having been born and raised on a dairy day in Kwazulu-Natal his whole life...
I started this blog in March 2011 after the relative success of my travel blog FarmboyandCityGirl, a travel site aimed at foreigners living in South Korea and for people looking to head over here to teach English. If you're thinking about it, don't. Just do it! You won't regret it, it is the best thing Farmboy and I ever done...
